I am 34 years old and grew up in northern Ontario, Canada. I've struggled with mental illness since my earliest recollection of it at age 5. I suffer from chronic depression, general high anxiety, social anxiety, and panic attacks. My life has been challenging to say the least, however, through perseverance and resiliency I’ve managed to overcome these challenges over time. There have been many bad times throughout my life, many times where giving up could have been the easiest choice (even though it would have been the wrong one). But having kept going and fighting for each "tomorrow" I’ve had my share of successes which includes being both a College and University graduate. I am a scientific person at heart and have a passion for both storytelling and helping others.
This project serves two purposes for me. Creatures of Habit is a supplemental form of self therapy that allows me to dive into a couple of my passions. It's also a project that I hope will somehow help anyone who has dealt with/are currently struggling themselves with/or know someone who is struggling with mental illness. There are people out there who can’t afford the help they need (as the sole income for my family, I know the feeling). So hopefully the story and this project can and will help those who struggle. Just remember that you're not alone and do not give up on yourself, ever.
