Fatherly Wisdom

Dads are know-it-alls, and we typically know a lot about stuff that doesn't really matter (TV shows, comic books, movies, algebra*, etc.). Despite the lack of important information filling our brainholes, we love to share our bounty of useless knowledge with our progeny in hopes that one day they, too, will pass this information down to their own children.
Even though Parker is still very young, I've started sharing as much information as I can with him. I've exposed him to some great music from the likes of Soundgarden, Ryan Adams, and Maynard Ferguson. I've discussed why I prefer a smooth surface on my Bristol Board rather than vellum. We've been watching Comic Book Men so he can kind of get acquainted with some geek culture (much to my wife's chagrin). It's been awesome and we're having a blast!
It's just the tip of the iceberg, though. As he gets older, we'll be able to discuss books together. I'll be able to teach him to play the guitar and throw a football. If he's interested, I'll even be able to show him how to make his own comics and cartoons! Exciting stuff!... For me at least.

How old were your kids when you started passing down your storied wisdom to them?
*For the record, I suck at algebra.

Welll I'm not planning to have kids for a solid 10 years or so because I'm 14 at the moment xD But I do tend to be around small children a lot and I just tell them these little bits of info I remember learning and stuff. They're adorable when they're confused.
